Spent another 5 days at your studios and every time I return it just gets better and better. Scenery is wonderful as always,
waking up and seeing the mountains, just makes my holiday. I enjoy the lovely walks through the countryside and going to the Monastery.
Dimtrovgrad is a beautiful town and has much to offer and I always go home with a purchase. Thoroughly enjoy the barbecue's.
Both of you are excellent host's. Will see you again soon.

So, you could say that the last couple of days - in fact, the last week - has been hard work. If you did say that, you'd be right!
But I've found my way to Velikan, a small village a bit north of Haskovo, staying with a lovely English couple who have fed me and, more importantly,
provided me with a proper cup of tea. I couldn't have been more grateful!

I recently spent nine days in Bulgaria, in a small village (Velikan). It is about a quarter of an hour from the main town of Dimitrograd by car,
though there is a regular bus service. I stayed in a lovely 2 bed self contained apartment, which was spotlessly clean.
There are two small shops in the village if you don't want to go in to Dimitrovgrad, although they only sell essential items.
If it is too hot you can sit under the balcony, or if you prefer, there is an area in the garden with tables, chairs and a umbrella.
The owners (Trisha and Doug) are English, and they live in the house adjoining the apartments.
I would recommend it to anyone wanting to get away from the rat race for a while, and the views are stunning.

Dear Trish & Doug,
Thank you for a wonderful stay at Callepagium Studios. My friend and I had a lovely relaxing holiday,
the countryside was breathtaking, the studio was second to none, and the village and people very friendly.
It had everything we needed, and more! There was plenty for us to do in nearby towns, and it was nice to come
back and spend quiet relaxing evenings in the garden. We can't wait to come back.
